11:03p | Civil rights issues My neighbors across the street were raided by the Sheriff's office. K came running up to me to ask me about warrants and stuff like that, and after a while the whole family came over. The cops raided her house based on the word of a guy who was a big guy in the coke foodchain. They've raided her house or that of relatives at least three times. 1. In one raid, a five months pregnant woman was thrown to the ground on her stomach. 2. In the second raid, M's husband's ribs were broken. 3. In this raid, three exterior doors were left damaged---by which I mean, yanked out of their frames or hinges--and the home owner---M----and her daughter, R, were tossed to the ground and handcuffed. The cops come with drug dogs and everything. They have never once found anything. The family does not know their rights and is afraid of further harassment. The cops call them 'illegal' but that's bullshit. M works her ass off. The cops broke windows this time, broke doors entirely, ripped ceiling tiles down, and left the house insecure. They posted the house as 'unfit for human habitation'---but that was after they rampaged through it. One cop's name keeps coming up. And like I said---they never find anything. Never. You'd thikn they'd question their informant's reliability by now, don't you think? I have one feeling, too: this is what Iraq is like. You give the cops an anonymous tip, they do a raid, and then what? Do they check out if there's enmity between the tipper and the tippee? | ||

I may or may not be going to a formal dance at UC Santa Cruz with Brendan this upcoming semester, and I'm shopping for dresses (which I can't afford) online. Recommend clothing websites to me pl0x! I've checked out Delia's, Wet Seal, DavidsProm, and *sigh* Hot Topic so far, but they can't satiate me! I lean toward retro- or vintage-looking stuff, but anything will do. Thank you in advance. 5:52p | I went and looked at some houses today. None of them were good. I have a feeling it is going to take us a long time to find the perfect house. Hopefully the bank houses will work out for us. We are month to month now on our apartment so it doesn't matter how long it takes us to find our perfect house. Steve and I went for a walk today and he had his arm around me. Some lady stopped us on the street to tell us she was jealous of the love we had. She said she wished she had what we had and then told us not to think she was crazy because she doesn't normally stop random people in the street and talk to them. I almost said "well, actually.. we hate each other and he beats me when no one else is around" but I decided against that. Big Brother in TWO hours!! YAYAYAYAYAYYAY | ||

5:08p | Another one This time, the female soldier survived---her own husband. Her husband kidnapped her, raped and stabbed her, and then she managed to persuade him to go back and turn himself in. That's a courageous woman. Meanwhile, three have been or will be tried for the murders of their wives. One wife died from drinking anti-freeze; the defense is trying to say she killed herself. For months. Leaving a quarter of a million to her hubbie. Another was Brit Neil Entwistle, the guy who murdered his wife and baby daughter. Another link on that site asks, "Was NC soldier murdered?" I dunno-----did she kill herself and set herself on fire? Or what? | ||

3:18p | Timing is everything Dear God, I know you and I chat a lot these days, but I just wanted to express my sincere appreciation that the sheriffs and the cops and the K9s didn't get here till after I helped that lady break into her car. Also, it's nice to know my skills are, uh, still skillful. There's ten sheriffs over at R's house, the little girl who so torments K with her on-again, off-again friendship. These guys are all wearing plain clothes and bullet-proof vests and white latex gloves. IF they'd gotten here about five minutes earlier I'd have had to explain why I was fishing around in that lady's car door. Looks like it's going to be a coke bust, too. Yikes. Still, could have been a lot worse. Hey, wait a second. How come when that lady locked her keys in her car I was the first person she thought of? Oh, and to complete my day, there's a creepy guy in the hood who's got cameras set up all around his perimeter. Except they're fixed in such a way that he's really looking into peoples' yards and windows. Ah, my neighborhood. | ||

The booth is mostly made and all the junk it ready to sell. • original art from the Onion cartoons. • new mugs • 'Drink Like a Fish' shirt • lots of the old crap from previous years (lunch boxes, books, etc). I'll have lots more pictures once I find the camera cable. I'm still looking for people to work the booth (I have extra badges) and I might even have extra space in my hotel room. It's a party. Sorry if you’re getting tired of me, and thank you all for your wealth of information!I have friends visiting from Atlanta in August. They’ve never been to Seattle, and we only have a day or two to cram in as much touristy sightseeing as possible. They’re also on a budget. Top of the list for them is the Space Needle, and we might try to do the underground tour, ride the ducks, visit Pike Place or Safeco Field, or all of the above. Where can I get a touristy coupon book that has discounts on things like this? I know they’re out there, I’m just not sure where to look. I’m thinking about just hitting up a concierge desk downtown or the chamber or something. Any other suggestions? Thanks! (I did find this, but none of that is really what we’re looking for.) | ||

9:41a | Blackberry! I have decided to get a Blackberry. Now I need to figure out which one. I'm torn between the Blackberry Curve and the Blackberry Pearl. Does anyone have either? I'd like input. They both seem to have all the features that I want, and there's only a $20 price difference. The issue is this - the Pearl is smaller, but has a weird key setup (2 letters per key). The Curve is slightly larger, but has a QWERTY setup. Input? Thoughts? Help? | ||

And by good, I mean a place that has secluded campsites with fire pits, is meant for pitching tents, has restrooms, but doesn't have any facilities for RVs. I've been internetting for hours trying to find something but someone told me that word of mouth is the best way to find out about campgrounds.
