I like Art of Noise, but not orchestral "hits". oh the incongruity! And that Purple Motion song in second reality. And Estrayk. And Fluke and Juno Reactor. Hmm. Well I guess what I mean is that I claim to not like orch hits but that's only when I try to use them.

Follow up to that chicken/salt thing: you are not supposed to use lots of salt in your batter because it "drops" out when you put it in oil and makes the oil break down faster! So it's totally possible I was cooking with broken oil.

Estrayk rules, but I associate him more with chiptunes?

Also, close to the edit.

BTW, I'm making good progress on the sample creation/editor thing, if I get it done soon, you wanna take a look?

I was thinking specifically of epfinal.s3m. Bimf! Bimf! Boy, that one came out right when the wacky phase of my life was beginning.

And ya, show me the thing! No, augh, the other thing!

Are you talking about little bursts of synthesized brass+strings? I know they throw them in on "Close to the Edit" and in moments in their version of "Peter Gunn."

I have one Art of Noise record and I'll be damend if I can remember the name but it's got their most "popular" stuff. I was surprised to discover that while my record had "Paranomia," it was the version sans the running commentary of Max Headroom. I can't determine whether I was delighted or saddened by this.

Could it be a "best-of"? There's like 3 different best ofs. You are saddened by the omission of Max Headroom, though it probably means you have one that came out in the 80s.

"On drums - the pope! epop eht - smurd no".

and yeah, those bursts of orchestra are what I'm talking about. Abused by the likes of Janet Jackson and MC Hammer (or rather, their producers).
