I spliced my bike computer and its rpm sensor back together tonight. The tiny wires had so little slack I had to make a work surface on top of the head tube of the bike. This turned out to be a flattened cardboard box and a razor blade (to solder against). The hot soldering iron plus the springy alligator clips clamping the wires in place, plus the hemostat, plus the weight and will-to-rotate of the headset equals a million ways this operation could go awry.
But it didn't! Ha! Ok that story sucked. I just wanted to point out that I can put wires together. Seriously folks. Together. And then with the heat shrink tubing. I am a regular light-bulb hacker.
