When I try to think of maybe the most boring topic that I am capable of talking about, pepper just keeps coming up. So! Today I got some peppercorns. Yes, black PEPPERCORNS. But wait - everyone knows that I'm afraid of peppermills or something! How could I possibly use peppercorns without a peppermill? Do I plan to just eat them whole, like some kind of nose-scorching variant on granola? Enter modern convenience! McCormick actually makes a spice jar that has a LID THAT GRINDS PEPPER!!! Holy cow! I had to get it just to see how that works! As we speak I am grinding pepper all over things that don't really want fresh ground pepper.

fun fact: "pepper" is also a transitive verb which means "to sprinkle liberally". This means you can pepper your food with salt. Or God can threaten to pepper your speech with "okey dokes".

I like the garic and red pepper grinder I wrote about here (http://www.anitarowland.com/gmarchives/00000603.html). Very tasty!

you're grinding pepper on things that don't want fresh ground pepper, like the cat, your sister, Officer Bob, slugs, the gold fish. etc??

That is exactly right. There is an emphasis on things within a few feet of my chair, though: the keyboard, my shoes, and of all things, a plate of chicken.

Dear Andr00,

Perhaps I would be on YIM more if I knew what your screen name was!
