I can totally get behind buy nothing day. Almost every day for the past few months has been buy nothing day! Come christmastime, I hope everyone wants to help me celebrate "get nothing day".

i like christmas. i know, you're all jaded and cynical, and i'm all mindlessly cheerful and plagued with consumerism. but you know what? people are nicer at christmas time. and yeah, i wish that they'd be nicer all year round, but it's still nice that even for a few weeks every year, people are all full of holiday cheer, and "be kind to others"-ness.

i can't get behind the rampant consumerism, and i'm so not all about 'baby jesus'. but anything that encourages people to be less shitty at each other, even for a while, i'm all about.

(also, i love christmas carols, and i love buying gifts. everyone else sees it as "forcing" them to buy their loved ones gifts - i see it as an excuse to buy gifts.)

Jaded shmaded, what I'm saying is: it's going to be a flat broke Christmas, for me.
