Oppression
Today I was on my usual Alki bike ride with four friends. I was turning left on 2nd from Pike with a green light, and I crossed over the crosswalk while it had people in it, seeing a ten foot gap in the foot traffic which i felt was a safe margin.
Seconds later an angry voice is pursuing me down the street. "You guys are such assholes! You always complain about cars not following the rules of the road! It's a double standard!"
I turned around to see the source of all this rightous indignation. Do you know who it was who was ranting about double standards? A middle aged macho caucasian male, driving a brand new mercedes convertible.
