I see by Livejournal's birthday reminding alert box that tomorrow is
kdarr's birthday, as well as
x_mutilated_x's, exactly ten years later. I remember this particular birthday without mechanized help, since I've celebrated it more than any other one (excepting my own). What is it, 23 years I've known kdarr now? Anybody else have a friend they've known for more than a couple decades?
Newsflash: Tonight I washed the kitchen. I love washing the kitchen, except for the part where I have to get started, and the part where I have to keep doing it. Finishing up - that part is great. Being done is great, too. I didn't employ any novel techniques, unlike, say, that time I was
trying to get the cupcakes out of the muffin tin. The weirdest thing I did was use a "swiffer". I resent having a made-up, trademarked verb pushed on me like that.
A:"What're you up to?"
B:(ruefully) "Swiffing."
Hey, don't think I didn't TRY to find drama in kitchen cleanup. I produce drama. It contaminates my psyche like spiky punch. I am just a very good container. I do not emit drama, per se.

frippy: you could post on LJ about your dishwashing torment

frippy: and then get some *hugs*
Kitchen cleaning is just not dramatic, unless you finish up by killing yourself in the oven. I could not even find cheap melodrama in throwing away my last pink frosting rose. I still have all my cake decorating supplies, I could crank out an army of roses before you could say "making a gigantic mess with powdered sugar and crisco while wearing black clothing." 100,000 times.
In workplace news: More confusion than usual, as everyone in my zone moved to a different floor on Friday. Today was the post-move-chaos-cleanup. People not having network, whiteboards, or coffee. In my case, my area was completely packed with chairs! I let the division manager use my extra moving labels to mark his stuff, so lots of it wound up in my place. I remain whiteboardless, awaiting Thursday. Until then, my system diagrams will have a crack at longevity, rendered in waterproof ink on a recycled paper tablet. Ewige blumenkraft.
