Oh yeah! I went to caucus today. It was a MAD HOUSE! Well, it was maybe just a very raucous.. er.. caucus. They had set up chairs around tables for each precinct, each precinct table would seat maybe 12. There were 49 people in my section, clustered around the table in a big standing-room-only clump. Other sections were similiarly crowded.
Democracy is inefficient and involves a lot of yelling at your neighbors. Oh yes! Everyone at my table was from right around my building. Across the street, next door. This is the first time I've spoken to many of them. And we were all talking about the same thing. Now when I recognize them on the street, I am thinking, "hey, that's a democrat". It's much more interesting than a primary, for sure. WOULD GO AGAIN A+++++
Mainly Dean supporters at my table, though our chairperson was a very energetic woman who wore Kerry stickers on her person. The Kucinich people were apparently the wild haired, surplus army jacket wearing left. Nobody in my caucus supported Clark. Poor Clark.
