I EAT FOOD
I got wrapped up in music activities last night and didn't get dinner. I haven't gone shopping in a while, so there's no food at my house. I do have a cache of many "energy bar" type snacks (for biking and what not), so I had one of those and went to sleep, despite tummy rumbles. This morning, woke up, way hungry, and had another power bar before biking to work. Now I'm here and I discovered that I left my wallet in new jacket #2, at home. So for LUNCH, I thought I'd have NOTHING, except that I always carry a small amount of emergency food in my messenger bag. What is it? Another fricking energy bar. I've had just about enough of these things. They look worse than they taste - slightly worse than the chipped beef M.R.E. and ten times blander.

Yes, being very hungry puts me in a fabulous mood. Great. I love the world and everything in it and especially everything in my face.

Coffee is an okay appetite suppressant, except for the crampy surge of hunger when it wears off. Maybe I should just leave a huge pile of cash in my desk at work. Yeah, that's a great idea. What's new with you guys?

Then I could call my office "Hidden Pie Ranch". Yeah, your idea is pretty good, but if I could buy a pie, I wouldn't be eating stuff that I found outside conference rooms.

I do believe those are the next generation of field-food after M.R.E.s. I've never tried one, but the self-heating part intrigues me. On the other hand, heating up an M.R.E. might be a bad idea, smell-wise.

I always keep 'energy' bars in my desk. Mars, Three Muskateers, Mounds, Almond Joy...because sometimes I feel like a nut, and sometimes I don't (Oh My Gawd, I can get corny sometimes when I'm tired) Anyway...you need FOOD, my good friend. FOOD AND I know the sheer enjoyment of playing music in my own office. Absolutely awesome. I sit there and smirk to myself. ahahha Great entry, but you've made me hungry...for...an...'energy' bar...CJ style. It's all good. Peace

By the end of the day, I will probably have resorted to raiding my collection of nickels and buying a bunch of twix out of the vending machine. Something nags at me in my head about that not being good for me somehow... I don't know. That's probably just Mom. Have a good one.

I didn't think of chewing gum - I forgot that gum even existed. It's been a long time since I had any. In fact, I don't think I've ever bought gum. Pretty much Halloween and when someone throws some at me are the only times I have it. Huh.

joining in the above commenter, food is over rated! screw that! drink more coffee =) drink it til youre so jittery that you have to pace maniacally back and forth and wear the carpet thin. diet and exercise all at once!

so all your coworkers suck and you cant bum a few bucks from them til tomorrow? unless youre going to tell me exactly where your work and desk are located, i dont think you should leave a huge pile of money there. but maybe a 10 spot. or maybe a handful of ones if you are a vending machine whore. :)

Diet and exercise at the same time??? Unthinkable! No one ever does THAT! Ahem.

No, my coworkers aren't stingy or anything. They just don't know I was in here starving. I'm very quiet about it. Except on livejournal. See, none of them have livejournals. That's the REAL problem.

Oh sure, point out as an example that YOUR CLOSE FRIEND can borrow money from you. I just don't happen to work with anyone I have know longer than my short term here.

My coworkers aren't all that bad. One of them noticed I was looking paler than usual, and he asked if I needed to borrow cash for food. But I said no. I'm just a little shy about asking for help. Then he said, "go ahead and STARRRRVE!" like in that disney movie.

If I were a republican, I'm mutter something macho about being self sufficient, bla bla bla, but really it's the shyness thing.

I found you by randomly searching through communities and personal journals for the last four hours. Links upon links upon....well, you get the idea.

I wasn't looking or you specifically, it just happened that way. I found, and added, the "hugs" thinggie to my info and then I saw the little link you have on the hug page....

The rest, as they say, is history.

So, "Hi!" :-)

I can't afford food til then. I have some milk and some sauce for noodles and noodles. And 2 beers left. To last me until I don't know when.

You know, I made a mistake by leaving my wallet at home. I had my checkbook, but it turns out no one, not even my bank, will take a check without ID. Which is in the wallet. But now I have to consider what I would do if I suddenly had no bank account. Hmm. I guess I'd live off of.. RICE. Yes, I have 20 pounds of rice in the house. You don't grow up with a chinese mom without a few scars. Mine is: there is always enough rice in the house to last an entire month.

So I suggest: break into a chinese person's house and steal the rice chest.
