Hey, anybody ever had their hair in a braid, and their cup of coffee on the desk behind them, and then leaned back while pulling the braid up to keep it from getting stuck between the chair and your back, and then your hair plops into the coffee?

No, no. Almost. But it made me think about it.

I've also come close. I often nearly drop my hair into food and think "Shit, that's disgusting."

Oh, totally. And to top it off, it's really thick, so it ends up everywhere. What I really hate is when I shut my hair in the car window.

Hi, hope you don't mind if I comment, but I just had to say that no I have never had my hair plopped into coffee, but I was at a party once and there was a candle on the window behind my chair.....

Oh NO! It wasn't Brett's birthday party, was it? Because that... happened. We were in a restaurant with little candles on a shelf on the wall behind the seats..

Nah, that couldn't have been, you're in KY or therebouts. Whew! Hair burns fast, don't it? Yikes.

Not only does it burn fast, but I quickly learned that the delightful aroma of burnt hair makes you nobody's favorite party guest. :p

The fun part was that it was right before Christmas so I sent out all my cards that year and said, "I'm having a great holiday season, baking cookies, wrappping gifts and setting myself on fire."

Hey, I can put snacks on MY belly. But only if I'm lying flat on my back. And it's really hard to eat stuff when it's on your stomach and you're facing straight up. Nevermind.

Hmm. Actually, I never thought about it, but I guess that means me now. Drat.

No wait - that's an equation for disaster. Whichever!

Eeeew. I hope you have really blonde hair in heidi-of-the-swiss-alps braids, because that's how I'm envisioning this scenario. It's kind of like "ristorante....OF DEATH!"

Thats the kind of thing that makes me want to cut my hair on a regular basis... its always ending up somewhere.. coffee isnt as bad as dishwater and such but sometimes it could be worse...
before I cut my hair this short... i easily sat on it... add that to drunk and need to pee... THAT is when its really bad! at least the thing was clean ... but damn!!

Yeah, I've got to say, if my hair got any longer it would seriously interfere with the SECRET THINGS I DO IN THE "BATH" ROOM! That's too long!

ahem. Yeah, sometimes I wonder if having short hair is less hassle. Then some of my hair escapes my braid and starts harassing my face and I remember that it's NOT.

Hey, I know what you mean. I don't know how, but if I eat something with honey on or in it, I will get honey in my hair. I don't know exactly how. I can keep my hands away from my face, eat real calm-like, don't turn around too quickly... and afterwards, honey! In my hair! Dang!

ahahaha I've not had that experience, but being a man who wears his hair long...not in a braid...I know the dangers and pitfalls. I'd give you some examples, but you've probably been through most of them if you have had your hair long for awhile. Great entry... It's good to have a LJ friend who is among the three percent of men (I'm often told) that choose to wear their hair the way they want. Peace. CJ

I'm just waiting for someone to ask me to do something with mine, cuz I haven't done anything with it for over a year.

And I rather like it this way.

But, I am still waiting for someone to say something about it. Just to see when someone will, you know, say something.

I'm in Britain, I imagine it's going to never happen due to the whole 'denial' bit (:

Fortunately, I don't get a lot of flak about how I wear my hair. It woudln't matter if I did. Occasionally, someone will make a remark, but it's very rare. I don't know about Britain, but in the states, there are some occupations that are more 'stereotyped' for the acceptance of long hair, and mine is one of them. although I am half Cherokee Indian, so it's in my genetic makeup to wear my hair as I do anyway. Thanx for the feedback...it's all good. Peace, CJ

Well, I've never had to cut off any great deal of it to escape something, so perhaps I have more things yet to experience. But yes, I bet you have been through most of the hair-trials I have. Eesh.

And you know, more than anything, public commentary on my hair has been "nice braid!". I can't really tell if it's sincere, but that's what everyone says. People at the bus stop, homeless guy on broadway, guy at work that processes my paycheck..

mine is now long enough in front that occasionally, if it falls frontward (which it tends to do sometimes, if I'm not wearing a hat) it just gets in my mouth. So I put on hat.
