This weekend didn't turn out very funny, sadly. Sunday's activities were: wake up (sort of) wake up some more, continue waking up for a while. Then: off to Chinook's for brunch. Dad loved Chinook's, and after going there (and the Maple Leaf Grill), I want to search out his other favorite places to eat. I had... what did I have, anyway?
Oh right, BREAKFAST TACOS. I hear they're unavoidable in the south. I tend to enjoy southern-ish cooking more than your average Hawaiian, so I gave em a shot. Verdict: they're handy! Good way to eat your bacon and eggs simultaneously without using any utensils. I also got a side of ham, since I was craving piggy flesh in a big way since the morning. Oh piggies.. I am so glad you can be down the food chain from me.
Then: off to Best Buy! I didn't best buy anything! They're out of fricking 512 MB SD cards! I don't need any more tech junk, really! Helen was just picking up a thing she bought online. Oh, but I want more tech junk very badly. Mmmm, junk.
After that: Helen's homemade ice cream + a fraction of ferris bueller's day off w/ commentary by John Hughes. You'd think there would be all kinds of weird incidental stuff about such a goofy film, right? Right. I don't want to ruin it for you. Besides, it's not funny when I say it.
Then nap! Then running the trail around discovery park arrrgh my kidneys! I got side pains pretty bad this time. My cheesy snap watch crapped out, so to keep track of my intervals I was counting breaths. 180 on, 60 off. When I'm counting, my exhale gets the vowel sound of the number I'm on so it goes (thud thud) "huhh!" (thud thud) "hoo!" (thud thud) "hee!" (thud thud) "ho!" Sure looks weird, written out like that. It's very quiet, I assure you.
Then a mixing session with Kris. We are finished recording all tracks for that last song, so we're just putting it together as nicely as we can now. It sounds all right. His objective was a "big" mix. It's reasonably big at this point. The vocals, which he re-cut last week, could maybe stand to put on a few pounds, but we've got the levels and pans about right. We cut out at midnight and now i'm just sort of poking around the house and munching on things.
I don't want to go to bed because when I wake up, it won't be the weekend anymore.
I forget what I did on Saturday, but it must have been useful because I now have the title to my car and a bunch more money in the bank, which was not the case on Friday. Maybe that was when I accidentally set the coffee grinder too fine and used it in a french press and then served Kris and myself caffeinated mud which left us both unhealthily wired. No, no, that was Friday. Uh.. Saturday... well I'm sure it was fun. It's really time for bed. Next stop: Monday. yech.
