Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend!  Next Entry
Aw yeah, it's a rockin' Saturday after a hard week of late nights and serious dental pain! Know what I'm doing in my free time? No, you do not. What does such a cool-headed dude as andr00 do in his off time? He must play hard, as he seems to work reasonably hard. Hmm, yes.

What andr00 is using his precious weekend day doing is: housecleaning! I'm cleaning the house. You young folk may not realize this yet, but houses really don't clean themselves. They don't, not even sort of. If you keep getting credit card applications and leaving them on the counter so you can check out the rates later, eventually your bar counter will be creaking under the weight of a thousand unopened credit card applications, like mine is! Was.

There is a surprising amount of effort required to keep a house looking civilized and modern, and it has to come from the same pool of effort which keeps all the bills mailed out, the appointments with the credit union to keep the loans in line, the repeated calls to the insurance agency and provider to remind them that they are indeed obligated to provide the coverage that you bought from them, the continued investigation into one's various legal battles (be they with FedEx, AT&T, petty bike thieves, or car impound lots), the appointments to take the car in for repairs, the appointments to take the bike in for ITS repairs. Continued study of computing to keep one's job, phone tag with one of a million people you're supposed to be talking to...

Oh right, well anyway it's obvious that I need a personal assistant to effect these tasks during the work day, since many of them need to happen during working hours, when I am ya know. Working. And this is without even trying to have hobbies or friends.

Hmm. I think I just posted generic livejournal topic #33, "I'm soooooooo busybusybusy!." Well I am. And I'm spending my weekend catching up on making my house habitable. So don't feel bad if you're doing something similiarly unlike "partying".

I'm the first one to comment on your entry unless someone magically does it before I post this. YAY!

I just had to tear all the moldy carpet out of my room, sand/varnish the wood floor and move all the furniture back it. That took up my weekend, and now my computer's messed up because it was disconnected for 2 days.

You are totally developing valuable varnishing skills that will serve you well in your raisin years. So you have a wood floor now?

Yardwork! I remember yardwork. Heck, I even remember post-hurricane yardwork. November 23, 1982, that was my closest look at a hurricane. I was just little, but that thing ripped nearby houses apart and distributed the shingles on our roof pretty well throughout the entire neighborhood. Must be a mess. Do you have centipedes in your yard?

Yeah, I bet you'll grow up and move out and you won't notice too much of a difference. Except for the bathroom and kitchen. Mopping. Yeah I had to buy a mop when I first moved out of the house at age 20. (hehe ppro 200 was fast)

When I moved out, me and one of my best friends got an apartment on the edge of Waikiki. Sounds glamorous. And really, it was. Like being on goddamn Magnum P.I. all the time. We had just gotten tech support jobs, which paid enough to cover rent and expenses. Try doing that! Does that still work?

we dont have that many ceneepedes, thank GOD. That would be awful. I took a day off from the yard today and am working on composing some new music. Did you used to live on the east coast?

Composing music! Let me hear some of your music!
No, I used to live in Hawaii. A couple of hurricanes blew through there in my lifetime, Iwa and Iniki. I guess those "I" hurricanes really have it in for the islands. Also - biggest centipedes ever.

Let's see ... in our house it was a day spent of doing dishes and general cleaning. Then it was off to a friends house to help her with her general cleaning and dishes doing. Good thing about helping the friend ... great hilarity ensued. That just doesn't happen during the cleaning at our house. At least not often.

I think if you're gonna put up with your parents, play by their rules, and show them a little respect, it's all right to let them clean up the kitchen and bathrooms. Besides, then they get to enjoy the look on your face when you move out and have to call them every two hours to find out how to keep your house from catching on fire.

Hey, I sent you email yesterday I think.. if you got it, when I went through my outbox and was rereading some old draft emails I realised how many typos were in it, sorry about that I'm not actually retarded. You can read my journal if you like, it has one entry :D

Hey, I found it a little while ago, when I was looking through the email that my spam filter had marked as suspected spam. So maybe you said something about rates or enlargement or something? Maybe it was all the typos. Anyway, I told it that it wasn't spam. That's how these things learn, you see.

Okay, I am reading your journal now! FRIENDS ONLY!! All you other suckas can't see all the stuff going on in there! Whoa!
