Well, my bruises aren't blue anymore, so this one doesn't look so patriotic. But now it's doing something even funnier, where it looks like a design.

I think it's trying to be a tattoo

If you get hurt, you get to share your markings.

The other ones are also interesting, but I'm not the type to post pictures of those parts.

Yeeouch. The lower-right one looks very much like an eye.

It kinda does! Weeeeird. There's an eye on my arm! Of course, today, the whole thing has spread out into a giant eggplanty splotch all over my upper arm.

Cool. I should dig out the ones of my shoulder from a few years back. I didn't know bruises came in so many colours then.

Your next step is to buy bruise plaster, and put it in a narrow strip, right in the middle of that worst section. Leave it on for a day, and then take it off and compare it to the sections that didn't have bruise plaster on them. I never knew how well bruise plaster worked until I did this by accident.

http://www.itmonline.org/jintu/plaster.htm has a good overview of bruise plaster. It's like the stick-on version of Icy Hot. Actually googling for "medicated plaster" will give you more info than looking for the slang of "bruise plaster", which is what everyone I know who studies martial arts calls it.

Using this stuff definitely seems hokey, but I pulled a muscle near my shoulder last night during my gig, and it was interfering with my *breathing*, not to mention anything that required use of my right arm. Today I used some really old and stale bruise plaster on it while doing 2 hours of errands, and voila, I don't even notice it now, unless I am already thinking about it and then stretch it or press on it.

I don't really understand why bruise plaster works, but it does.

I'm sure mom would be getting after me to put "chinese bruise medicine" on it. Yeah, like I don't have enough problems without smelling like a eucalyptus tree.

Yes. That is what I said, lying on the alphalt, after deccelerating to zero velocity. And I made that face.

It's like looking at an inkblot for god's sake! owie. Listen, sweetheart, I downloaded (yeah, I'm slowly dialing it up) some of Mr*****'s mp3's. I like you guys' music, no bullshit. I got lost on Jav's website and found a suggestion to look at your old Coredumps site again and was glad that I did. I hope you and Kris keep it up. Another day I'll look at your archives if you quit posting there totally in '02.

Hugs to you, dude. Two Lj'ers on my list clocked this week and you're both still ticking at least. I'm really hoping your bikes get unstolen but I know when my sons' Trek and Kai Tai, respectively were gone; they are very hard to recover. If you had renter's insurance, it should cover replacement but it still sucks. My kid's bikes weren't even a week old and all it took was 5 minutes or less with some bolt cutters on the best locking system at the time. Thank goodness I was able to get them replaced by our homeowner's back then. Anyway, keep the ice on and I hope Helen is pampering you if you like that sort of thing. (hugs for andr00)

You like our old band? Wow, wait till I tell kdarr! We're still making music away.. though we don't have the screamingest guy anymore. Thanks! Stoked.

And as for recovering the bikes, I am not optimistic, but I'm still trying. I'm watching ebay, craigslist, classifieds, police auctions. I've got flyers out at used bike places and pawn shops. I've got my police reports in. Most importantly, I have the support of a bunch of good people.

And bounty hunters. $600, folks! Bring my superbee back!

tis better to have an injury that could possibly be mistaken for a tattoo than to have one that people are disgusted by :)

Yes! Look on the bright side! This is a relatively minor and attractive injury, compared to burns and avulsions.

I'm fine, looks like. I was a little shaky for a while, what with the combination of the break in to my car and lost bikes, and getting smashed into a door. I think it's okay to cry anytime that happens, ya know.

All my blood is leaking from something big that broke on the inside. You let yours come out!

They're much more dramatic today, but I wasn't really planning on keeping a bruise photoblog, so I decline another picture.
