Today I took a shower, washed my face, shaved, and then put both my contact lenses in my right eye.

Addtl notes: two clean contact lenses right on top of each other are very difficult to separate when held in hands covered in lens solution.

Yeah, that's EXACTLY what I thought after I realized what I did. "Hmm. Might be one of *those* days."

Youch, and "duhhhh." You'd think I could remember a single fact for the 2 minutes it takes to clean the other lens. But nope! Not in the morning!

argh! never done that one before
I do get pissed a fair bit and try and take out contact lenses that have already been removed
so I end up just poking and prodding my bare eye in confusion

Ha ha ha! Ok, I've done that too, but only when I've gotten poked in the eye and I'm convinced the lens is up in my brain somewhere. Pretty much every time it turns out it fell out and is stuck to my shirt or nose or something.

the question is, are both of your contacts the same prescription, or did you have to remember which was which?

They're slightly different. Yeah, I didn't mention that, but it's also really hard to tell which of two nearly transparent lenses are actually on top when you're holding them. So not only did I have to get them off each other, I had to keep track of which one was on top. gaah!

I know, I should've got one green, one blue. But I liked the green tinge so much.

Now that I think about it, I get most of my being-completely-maladroit done within the first two hours of waking up.

This time it didn't hurt at all, which is why I didn't notice until I was all getting ready to put in a THIRD contact lens and wondered why I didn't have any more in the case.

Why don't you wear glasses? You'd look super cool with glasses.

I've been wearing glasses since 7th grade! I have both. I've started wearing the contacts a lot more since I started biking to work - peripheral vision is a lifesaver.

Wow, 7th grade. That's 1988. I had glasses before some of these folks had eyes.

I've never done that, but once, at bedtime I had put my glasses on, walked to my bed, and then realized things were extremely blurry... so I took my glasses off and my vision was perfect, I swear to God I thought it was a miracle, my poor vision was cured!!! And then I realized I still had my contacts in.
