oh wait I had to remember this:
the ferry was delayed because some guy drove his car BACKWARDS off the ferry, into the water, while it was at the terminal in anacortes. got a broken arm and hypothermia for his troubles. the ferry people will have to send down divers to see if the ferry bottom is going to scrape the car when they try to dock at that slip again.

He got out of his car alright, then? That's always been one of my fears, getting knocked into some water while in a car. Supposedly you should let the water level rise to a certain level and then lean on your door and it should open, or something.

That would have been something to see!

Yeah, he got out of the car. I think it says in the worst case scenario handbook that you're supposed to do that thing you just said. See, you would've been able to get out, too, if you weren't so embarassed from driving off the ferry that you decided to just hide in the car.
