GLOF (or: sunburnt in seattle)
I spent today golfing. I had never been golfing before, but my workplace likes to celebrate successfully making software things and letting other people use them. So this time we golfed (last time we sailed.) It turns out that on a golf course, you don't actually hear the word "golf" uttered very often. I did my part to try and raise the ambient golfyness, just as I am doing now. Golfing, as it turns out, is not as easy or boring as they make it look on TV. When the heavy end of the golf stick you are holding approaches the tiny white golf ball at about a thousand golf miles an hour, it isn't easy to control exactly where (or if) it actually makes golfable contact. Thus I did a lot of not-exactly straight golfing. I improved somewhat over 9 holes (GOLF HOLES), and by the end I was consistently making the chunk of turf which was right next to the ball fly downrange pretty far.
Oh yeah. Driving those little carts around is exactly as fun as I thought it would be, as a kid.
