1. I never cross against the light.
2. I never run stop signs.
3. I do not watch TV shows alone
4. I weigh 195 pounds.
5. I'm 6.0 feet
6. I played the trombone for 6 years
7. I thought I might be an architect, so I took three years of mechanical drawing.
8. I don't write in cursive except for my signature, which looks like "Annln Doyww"
9. So because of 7 and 8, I write in really square CAPITAL LETTERS a lot of the time
10. My lowercase handwriting is really tall and skinny and gets taller when I'm in a hurry
11. I only wear black clothes, including underpants and socks, for practical reasons.
12. A lot of my stuff is black, so I often lose things on top of other things that are the same color.
13. I leave the goddamn cupboards open all the time
14. I find meteorology very interesting, and thus took MET 101. I can read a weathermap now. whee
15. I like robots because when I was young my Dad showed me the MIT engineering competition on TV.
16. Plus battlestar galactica and jason of star command, which you do not remember.
17. Probably 90% of the sex I've ever had was with women who have online journals. Huh.
18. I don't really like being touched by strangers.
19. One of my best friends, Ed, loves telling awful stories about my behavior as his roommate and friend of 20 years.
20. My other best friend, Kris, I've known just a little longer, and we never had to room together longer than a day or two.
21. I am fascinated by lying and deception and have many books on the topic.
22. I am also very impressed by Paul Ekman's research into facial expressions, which is heavily related to 21.
23. My girlfriend used to work with John Gottman, who used the facial affect coding system in his lab. She has been qualified to translate facial expressions to emotion data in a clinical setting.
24. 23 used to creep me out a little, but also intrigued me. I borrowed her training materials and notes when we first started hanging out together.
25. When I lived in portland, a bunch of my fillings fell out and I did not treat those huge rectangular holes in my molars. The consequences were years of pain and 5 or so root canals to repair the damage, ongoing.
26. Going to the dentist makes me extremely anxious, though I can't figure out why. The pain of any dental procedure is trivial, compared to 25.
27. I like cats. I like them so much that when I see an actual cat, I automatically say "keeeetie!" in a high pitched voice.
28. I find dogs smelly and annoying, or cute. Depends on the dog.
29. Hedgehogs are all right, but illegal here.
30. I don't have a pet because I am so good at neglecting things that I killed an air plant.
31. The very first video game I played was the Sears Tele-games (Atari VCS) cartridge "Tank-Plus". No, it wasn't an "Atari 2600" yet because they didn't get model numbers until the 5200 came out.
32. I still have that VCS, and it still works. In fact, I have a cartridge that makes it into a synthesizer and am using it on recordings even now. It sounds like this (our loud flash page) (no flash? mp3.).
33. There are a few video games that aren't fun to play with me: Star Control, Command & Conquer, Total Annihilation. TA, especially. Well, maybe these days it'd be amusing, since I haven't played in years. Nah.
This is exhausting and they're getting longer. I'll stop at 1/3rd done for today.

I remember Jason of Star Command, but then I'm older than you. The thing that stands out the most is that I thought the sounds the lasers made was really annoying.

I would think it's like working at a donut shop - after a while you just hate donuts. Except you don't eat pets. You know what I mean.

Weird.

Ditto 11, 12, 13, 16, 18, 22, and 27.

And, also, 23 rocks. I didn't know about that.

I definitely remember Battlestar Galactica -- my parents were huge fans. I also remember them watching Buck Rogers in the 25th Century and being really, really annoyed by the sound Twiki made all the time.

I also cannot keep so much as a houseplant alive, even the kinds people say are hard to kill. Perhaps it's genetic; my mother is infamous for having let a variety of cactus die under her negligence.

Yeah, buck rogers replaced B.G. by virtue of being way cheaper to produce. Twiki was pretty dense, but we all liked Dr. Theopolis (the circular computer brain tweekie wore around his neck. Kris and his dad made one out of Lego.

#17 comes as a surprise to you? Huh. I'd like to know how that percentage breaks down. Anita put it over the top, didn't she?

I just never really thought about it that way before. That percentage doesn't break down very much, I'm quite the prude.

Anita who? Maybe you're thinking of someone else.

I'm too _old_ for BG. [Did you know the guy who played Starbuck is a vegan?] Mrph!

Anyway, if you want to muck things up even more you could give stats like:
"X% of the people I've dreamed of sleeping with have had online journals."
"X% of the people I've both dreamed about and slept with were nicer in my dreams."
or
"I don't know half of you half as well as I should like; and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve."

You are on my mental "cool people" list... I used to wear all black too (but don't anymore, as I own more colors).
