Oweek of bike commuting exactly and today Seattle throws a day of weather, the kind Seattlites take pictures of to convince people it rains a lot here. I get to test out my fenders! And get a flat tire! Oh crap! It's really hard to patch a wet tire, so I just walk the last mile in to work. Those bastards at the bike shop were supposed to have put "slime" flat-stopper in these! Fortunately there's a bike shop within mile, so I run up there at lunch to get a new tube and change.

Sure is a lot of room in the bike parking lot on rainy days! Busy at work! crap! laters!

The world conspires against you! Did the fenders work okay?

The fenders work great! Aaron is a crusader for mud flaps, but the fender reaches so low, it seems to catch everything headed for my feet or drivetrain. I was sloshing through puddles today, and I'm still wearing dry shoes! Well, dry socks. The only time I get really wet is when a car goes through a puddle next to me.

I wrote to em and they said "well I was gonna say we didn't do that for bikes brought in for assembly, but I guess it says on our website that we do. So bring it in and we'll do it!" Sigh. I wonder what else they didn't do.

Bike parking lot? Really?

Here we call them "parking meters," "trees," or "sign posts."

I'm lucky, though. My current boss bought a nice indoor bike rack for our bikes so they can hang prominently in the waiting room.

Inside the parking structure across the street we have a large electronically locked and monitored chain link "cage" which contains lots of bike racks. I don't think the facilities people like that I call it "the cage". We also have enough empty cubes that I could just park in the cube next door. In fact, that's what I did for the first day biking here.

Westlake mall, on the other hand, has one peasly little 3 bike rack beneath the monorail tracks. Mostly, though, the Seattle area is bike-friendly.

Haha, man... how do you keep from not clawing your eyes out every time you read your comments, "guy that made the hugs counter?"

Here's to being like, random and stuff.

Man, that's three times in as many days where I start ranting and you're being the voice of reason.

When did I get so pissed off all the time?

Too much internet, I think. That'll make anyone mad.

Yeah, well, I for one support your right to tell people off when they simultaneously lay claim to the title "mastering engineer" and denigrate the field as "overrated". We can be like good cop/bad cop. Or snake/bacon.

Careful, though. Wouldn't want to pick up a nickname like "Angry Kris".
