Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend!  Next Entry
Had a little incident with the sriracha sauce. I left it out of the fridge for a while, closed. The air inside the bottle warmed up, but the small smount of sauce caught in the closed nozzle formed a tight seal, trapping the expanding gas.

When I finally remembered to put it back in the fridge, it was drooling a tiny stream of liquid from the top. I wanted to make sure it was closed tight, so I twisted the top a little bit open, to make sure the screw thread was seated right. This is when the trapped, pressurized air escaped, along with the sriracha sauce trapped in the nozzle in front of it. Escaped quickly, and with gusto, all over the kitchen. This is why I will always live alone. No one should have to deal with my kitchen.

Of course, I don't keep motor oil in a drip pan in the fridge like some people named cat.

Really? I don't know anybody that's done that. Gatoraide bottles full of used motor oil, sure - but no drip pans :)

I am able to clean my own kitchen! I am just really good at messing it up. And leaving all the cupboards open. Someone not letting me into my own kitchen? That'll be the day...

Well, actually I don't know that you are. It doesn't tell you to, anywhere on the bottle. But it might be one of those rare instances where someone in america gets the benefit of the doubt that they will figure out the right thing to do on their own.

In my case, I figured: it's red and goopy and food, like ketchup. We refrigerate ketchup. The quality of the red goopiness seems consistent with other things that can spoil. Therefore, we refrigerate sriracha sauce, q.e.d.

Right, I followed the same thought process except rather than compare it to ketchup I opted for hot sauce.. Might need to rethink that.

This morning while scraping the last scrumptious bits out of the yogurt tub and into my wee portable yogurt tupperware thinger, I dropped the tub, splattering little vanilla yogurt bits all over the kitchen. I think I got most of them wiped up with a damp paper towel but no doubt I missed some. At least vanilla yogurt is not red like sriracha sauce!

At least I don't have droplets of chocolate pudding mechanically splattered all over every solid object in the kitchen. Oh how I miss the days of having a roommate.

There's a group of us who just seem more prone to having shenanigans thrust upon us. On the other hand, I'm really lucky. Maybe kitchen disasters are good, and I just can't figure out why?

Sometimes I accuse my friend [info]kdarr of being a cartoon film and not live-action at all. But that's just projection.

All walls are lickable. However, most of them are wall-flavored. If you're lucky. What was I just saying today? "If people can bring dogs to my workplace, I should be allowed to lick my coworkers." Thank god those days are over.

Some messy guys just can't resist a good woman, I guess. Oh man, you should see my kitchen NOW, it looks like a shakeable paperweight globe! That's what I get for trying to mix 7 cups of frosting in a 10 cup bowl.

As kdarr said to me (only using my username, of course, neighhhhhh! er, Mr. Ed the Talking Horse won't get outta my head this week, sorry!): So shall I say unto you: "andr00, you are hilarious!"

As for the shake'em up globe business re your kitchen; please do use some white whipped cream icing or something to better simulate the snow effect next time. (I verily say this knowing you are a non-violent person, however I would know such a thing.)

(doggammit, what a fucking mess to clean up, duder!)(very entertaining when I gave up trying to sleep at 2am this Tues. morn, though...HAhahahahaha. I love the visual of the mess as it actually occurred. Please forgive me? heh. And, btw, *chocolate* icing sounds really gross, man. Had it been me (and it coulda been); don't know whether I would've laughed first or cried! Oh.My.Dog.
